High-Five Fridays | July 11, 2008
I need to get more organized with my work schedule now that I’m not punching a timeclock. To that end, I’m going to start a regular Friday event here called High-Five Fridays. You are ALL invited and please invite your friends (that didn’t sound like begging, did it? It was supposed to.)
High-Five Fridays will highlight five of my favorite websites. I think most of the sites will be blogs, but I want to leave the door open just a tiny bit for self-promotion other genres. Here are the first five – please visit them and enjoy!
Hunter is a clever writer whose blog title pretty much sums it up. In his own words, his work “will help you bridge the gap between the life you have and the life you want.” His recent post The Introverts Strike Back had me rolling on the floor.
I was fortunate to find Pam’s blog a few years ago when escaping from cubicle hell nation seemed impossible. Pam really knocked people over with her pointed and insightful post Open letter to CEOs, COOs, CIOs and CFOs across the corporate world. Publishers have also found her blog and she has a book of the same title scheduled for Spring, 2009!
As much as I like “discovering” new sites, I’d be completely remiss not to list one of my favorite places to visit. Leo lives on Guam with his wife and six children. If you have ever wanted to do something but lacked the motivation, this blog is for you. I suggest you start at his Popular Posts page for a tidy list that you’ll stay up all night reading.
Lynn has over a decade of internet marketing experience, yet she remains unscathed by the ickyness that is so easy to find in this industry. If Lynn wasn’t already out there being Lynn, I’d try to be her! Her blog has just the right mix of new product reviews and personal anecdotes. She’s great at leveraging social marketing and she has free webinars every week!
All Wordpress all the time. This blog is a great resource for Wordpress users and is strictly business – no personal rants and ramblings here. The blog opened its doors in November, 2007, and hasn’t looked back since. They average 15 posts a month and topics range from 8 Clever Ways to Lower the Bounce-Rate on Your Blog to super nice Free Glossy Blogging Icons Set for Bloggers.
Readers (you AND your friends) – Leave me a note about YOUR favorite places! I’d love to include them in this feature, and nothing makes me happier than getting hooked on new blogs!

Annie,
Love your High Five Fridays concept! Cool idea. I may steal it — er, ADAPT it — for my blog.
Love your sense of humor, too. I’m going to “adapt” your technique of using strike-through, too.
Let’s see, what else can I steal, um, borrow?

Thanks for the link list. As an unapologetic introvert (INTJ baby!), I also got a kick out of Hunter’s post on introverts.
